Dunno. The prior renovations of Dillon cited in the article were primarily new flooring: for the basketball/volleyball/lacrosse/field hockey floor on the main level; the martial arts room (?), and in Stephens. Plus unmentioned graphics on walls.
But what was needed was more space! For all the above, for all the varsity teams and various "fairs" that use the space, and for people who actually want to exercise.
Doesn't take a genius to know that-- but since none of the prime decision makers use the gym or have offices nearby, they wouldn't know that from observation.
