To say that this survey is "flawed" or "not useful" because it doesn't target a specific issue is to say that a presidential approval rating can be described as such (note that the survey does include a comment box, too, so more specific views may be heard). By contrast, despite being vague, both of these are bellwethers of popular support for governing elites. This type of accountability is useful in and of itself. Are these questions inherently inflammatory, or is it just that we know, based on the vast majority of conversations with our peers, that students are dissatisfied in general with the direction in which the University is going and the way it is run? Students should be able to give an up-or-down vote on how they feel on these issues, since they are important stakeholders in the University.

I don't understand what the big deal is. Students pay tuition and deserve to have their voices heard. If the USG won't let the administration know that students are unhappyn who will?

Not necessarily, but since the survey is flawed, the responses will not be useful.

I wonder if the responses to the questions are going to be considered "flawed" too. Shame on the USG and the Prince.
