Um, how does the gender of the first question-poser change the nature of his/her problem? Being a girl shouldn't stop her from being able to communicate to her abusive girlfriend. I agree it's a serious problem, but whether or not it's a hetero or a homosexual one shouldn't make a difference about the partners' ability to be open and respectful with each other.

Not everyone who has a girlfriend is male...this could be a very serious question no matter what gender the asker is, but consider that it might be coming from a girl and maybe you will see it in a different light.
