Janet Jackson follows her siblings into mediocrity

Written by Adam Tanaka, Staff Writer

"Discipline" certainly is the right name for Janet Jackson's so-called comeback album. Where her groundbreaking late-'80s, early-'90s pop masterpieces were breathlessly inventive, hook-filled joyrides, everything about this new record is safe, restrained and utterly unexciting.

It really is a sad ...(back to the article)

I think this writer is prophetic since he predicted Discipline will be number one! hehehehe! Sorry the album was number no thanks to you! I think much thought is put into an album and sometimes the things they put out for the public is always a big gamble. Inputs from record company bigwigs and producers probably dictated the outcome so why criticize janet for your dislike of this album,

What a hilarious review! Very funny, and I hate to say it, but I have to agree with most of it. When I heard "So Much Betta", I had to examine the CD to see if it was damaged. It's interesting that her counterparts (Madonna and Mariah) are still breaking chart records, leaving Janet in the dust. But you have to admit it was an incredibly delicious chart run. But now it seems that Janet is relegated to has-been status. If you'd like to discuss this further, visit my web-site at www.icatharsis.com.

The writer of this article really needs to listen to the album again. It's not as bad as he thinks. It's actually very good. So much Betta is creative. The 1 with Missy is awesome! The three songs he liked are ones I love! One thing for sure is that the whole album doesn't sound like one long song. Why not compliment janet on having many sounds for a listener to enjoy...she has ballads, cool intros, hip hop/rap stuff, rnb stuff, and even kiddie pop songs. YOU GO JANET!

Sorry Janet fans but Flopita Ho is OVER! She needs to give it up and find something else to do. Janet isn't needed anymore. Beyonce and Rihanna are the queens of music now and showing Janet how it's done.

Luckily Janet doesn't make music for haters like you. You talk about Janet and her family more than the music. Discipline is one hot CD. Most think so, but some people are used to always hating on what Janet does. She and her fans rise above.... NEXT!

If you can find three songs on a pop album that you like, than it's better than 99% of what's out there. And with the 3 you liked, you have to give Rollercoaster another listen. It's made for a real dance club, not your ipod. Also, Janet is never given credit for the fact that she has many generations of fans to satisfy, and they don't just love whatever Janet puts out there, they want "thier Janet." You got your 3 songs. So Much Betta, Greatest Ex are for the "kids" and if you check out the boards they LOVE those trackshe the best. I understand that you are saying you expect more, but throughout her entire career it's ALWAYS been too easy for critics to dismiss Janet. Yet, she has accomplished all she has and she is still out front.

I think everyone is too hard on Janet. Look at the crap that is put out today. There are a handful of artists with great albums, don't just pick on her. I think this album is the best since the Velvet Rope. All For U was not the best, I wasn't crazy about Damita Jo and I absolutely hated 20 y.o. but I think Janet got it right this time. In addition, it's gotten great reviews from those who count; Rolling Stone, Billboard and the fans.
