It's ridiculous that Public Safety doesn't already have guns. But I guess we're just lucky to be in this Bubble. UChicago has 140 gun-toting officers that spend 36 weeks of training at the Chicago Police Academy and they still have problems.

What percentage of Princeton's endowment fund payout should be committed to this Princeton Swat Team with special knowlege of neutralizing explosive and nuclear devises going to cost? Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to impeach and then hang Nixon II, Cheney, and Cox for treason?

Although all police departments hope for the best, in this day and age it is necessary to plan for the worst. No campus is immune from the possiblity of a shooting. To not give the police the tools they need to respond to this is a grave mistake to both the campus community and the police themselves.
