After creating more than 50 new USG positions, expanding the webmail quota by 824 MB and launching a new website during the first 25 days of his administration, USG president Josh Weinstein ’09 isn’t done planning.

I ran on a platform to do exactly this, and people called me "angry". Weinstein does it, and he's a visionary. Must be the hair.

That having been said, congratulations to all involved. The USG has been begging for this sort of reform for years, and Josh and his team deserve all the credit in the world for piercing the Senate-roadblock that has stymied efforts at reform in the past.

    Huzza!

Hey Prince, though Josh deserves a lot of credit for acting the above initiatives, please remember to delve deeper when reporting on "USG" initiatives in the future. Don't just ask the President or Vice-President. While both would be happy to talk to you, they often aren't in charge of the smaller projects. You should ask them for names of other USG members to speak to who could give you a better idea of what really happened. An example of where Prince reporting didn't go deep enough in the past is the anonymous course comments initiative. While USG President and Academics Chair were given much credit, neither came up with the original idea. It was actually brought up by a professor who passed it on to another student on USG. Try to do your homework.

I'm wondering just what the USG has done or is doing to address the concerns around Spellman being annexed. I've read and heard a LOT of student concern about the matter but nothing about what the USG has done... The students and this paper have spoken loudly as stated as a prerequisite by Mr. Weinstein and his clan in the last paragraph of this article, '“For the bigger projects,” he said, “we need loud student input.” The more student input the USG has and the more projects stem from actual student concerns, the more the issue will interest the administration, Weinstein explained. “The more people we have involved, the more credible the USG is on behalf of the students,” Wang said.'
From what I can see they are not looking too credible working on obtaining 2-ply toilet paper and hammocks while much more pressing issues that concern many more students remain. Its easy to show success on such trivial matters like these. Its how you do on bringing about change in big ones that will give you credibility.
