Giving up meat doesn't hurt Tiger athletes

According to conventional wisdom, athletes need high-meat, protein-rich diets to fuel their active lifestyles and maintain muscle mass.

The headline is misleading...how are they sure it "doesn't hurt" their performance? Was a scientific study conducted? Stick to the facts! Also, the ending line, "one salad at a time" is very misleading because it propagates a stereotype about vegetarian food. Not only are there many great vegetarian dishes that are not salad, there are also many great salads that include meat!

Sadly, despite making it very clear to the Prince Reporter who wrote this article that I had not been on the Princeton Heavyweight Crew team since Freshman year, he neglected to mention this in his article. I am disappointed in the Prince's demonstrated inability to correctly quote those who they interview.

As someone who was actually on the same team (and sometimes in the same boat) as Hill, I can tell you that she was never "consistently numbered among their slowest members". Hill is an athletic recruit and was among the fastest freshman rowers in 06-07. It is true that she's taking a break from crew this semester, but she will return to practice in the fall and has by no means quit the team.

Neither Hill nor Carr are currently on the crew teams that they claim to be a part of - and before they each quit those teams, they were consistently numbered among their slowest members.
