2 Cents from a hacker; the website was most likely not the intentional target. It's much more likely that hacker was able to compromise the server with the intention of using it for file distribution, bandwidth or just disk space. Of course there could be other motives, but I would consider those to be primary. Since these guys are grouped on IRC it’s likely that they’re trading with Warez groups; your network may have just become someones new topsite. Gabriel (g4br131?) probably saw the website and decided to graffiti it. This really only illustrates a junior hacker that most likely used some premade exploit. No self respecting hacker would screw up a good piece of real estate like that; a good hacker would make it run better so that no one ever suspected foul play. My first instinct would be to track the person to their Internet home (they did leave their address/calling card for you) and discover how they compromised the server. The next thing would be to look at all the other systems they accessed, especially any local systems using the same OS as the infiltration may be much larger than what you see at first. Damn kids, where are their parent’s at? Looks like they came from Brazil to me so I guess the parents are out filming UFOs atm.
